I added to the food ideas these Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle apples inspired by an idea I found at Hallecake. The main meal for our TMNT party was pizza because everyone knows the that pizza is a turtles’ favorite food. I used brown ribbon to attach at the waist, but I really should have included arm straps as well to help them stay on better. The turkey roasting pan turtle shells I used as decorations doubled as a party favor the kids could wear and take home so they could become ninja turtles. I also added lime green plastic swirls falling down from the ceiling, which added an extra layer of party fun. The first coat wasn’t perfect, but the second coat went on really well. Our spray paint had primer in it, which helped in the success. Craft paint alone peeled off the surface of the pan, leaving a flakey mess. We found the best way to cover these was to use spray paint for the base and craft paint for the accent color. To decorate the wall behind the dining table, I made these wonderful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle shells out of disposable roaster pans. I love the green striped boxes that housed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle party favors. The party favor boxes were also found at Birthday Express and were pre-packaged to make my life really easy. ![]() The cups and masks were able to become a party favor as well. I then added green plastic plates (I re-used these from a previous party, and can’t find the exact plate but linked to something similar), napkins to match the colors (folded to look like a mask on the plate), paper TMNT masks, and TMNT plastic party cups. In the end, it may have been easier to sew. I made the runners by using the Heat Bond Iron-on strips. To decorate the dining room table, I used a lime green disposable table cloth and then added some no-sew fabric table runners in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle colors of red, purple, orange and blue. I also added the Chinese lantern turtles on top of the backdrop by adding some fabric cut out masks to the lanterns I found at Birthday Express. You will also see these on the dining room table.
